Our History, Beliefs, and Purpose
Church History
Our church history is compiled as far back as 1840 with the first one-room church at this location occupied in 1909. Ground-breaking ceremonies for the existing sanctuary began in 1972 with dedication in 1977. Beginning in 2014, our fellowship hall was added and dedicated in August 2015. On May 6, 2023, after prayerful discernment, New Hope disaffiliated from the United Methodist denomination and is currently an independent Methodist church with strong Wesleyan beliefs.
What We Believe
-
There is one living and true God.
-
We believe in the Trinity – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
-
Jesus Christ is the Messiah who died on the cross for our sins.
-
Salvation comes by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and repentance of sins.
-
The gift of grace is available to all persons.
-
The Holy Bible, both Old and New Testament, is the authoritative Word of God.
